FAQ 33: Not compatible with Internet Connection Sharing
Category: Troubleshooting | Updated: 3/7/2010 12:22:33 PM | Read: 1439 (Last: 9/5/2010 6:25:41 AM) DNS Redirector cannot be used with Internet Connection Sharing (commonly known as ICS) which acts as a NAT router between two network interfaces in the same machine.
Cause
ICS monopolizes UDP port 53 to forward DNS queries out the WAN (Internet) interface. There is no way to configure ICS to specify a separate DNS server for users on the LAN (Inside) interface.
