FAQ 108: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 is required

Starting with DNS Redirector v7.x the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 is required.

See the list of .NET Frameworks included with each OS.
Run Windows/Microsoft Update to get any .NET updates released since the version included in your OS.

Easiest install path for Windows XP and Server 2003 (x86 or x64)...
1) Install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 (which includes .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2)
2) Restart
3) Run Windows/Microsoft Update to get all remaining .NET updates
4) Restart

Resolution

If you want to manually install only .NET Framework 2.0 follow the steps below.
These links assume your server is x86 (32-bit), if you have a x64 (64-bit) server use the install path above.

If using Windows 2000 ensure the OS is at SP4, then start by installing Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1.
If using Windows XP or later, you can start with Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2.

Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1...
NetFx20SP1_x86.exe available here
Then restart and proceed below

Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2...
NetFx20SP2_x86.exe available here for x86 Windows XP and Server 2003
Then restart and proceed below

Install the update for the .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2...
NDP20SP2-KB958481-x86.exe available here for x86 Windows XP and Server 2003
Windows6.0-KB958481-x86.msu available here for x86 Windows Vista and Server 2008
Then restart and proceed below

Run Windows/Microsoft Update to get all remaining .NET updates
Then restart
